Ultraman Taro began life with the idea of being more appealing to children, and as such, Tsuburaya decided to make its follow-up to Ultraman Ace be a more light hearted series that revolved around fairy tales. Unfortunately, the decision to take the show into a more childish direction turned off many of the adult viewers.
