Ultraman Neos has such a weird history. It was originally conceived in 1995 with the notion of bring an Ultra show back to basics. However, due to lack of interest from television networks, and Tsuburaya’s decision to make Ultraman Tiga in 1996, Neos was shelved until Gaia had ended. Tsuburaya decided to make Neos a direct to video series given there was not going to be a show at all in the year 2000. It is also worth nothing that Neos did air on TV for a couple of weeks when Ultraman Cosmos was temporarily pulled thanks to the false accusations against Cosmos’ lead actor.
