Ninja Sentai Kakuranger was Noboru Sugimura’s third Sentai series and like Zyuranger and Dairanger before it, he tried to do something entirely different from its predecessors. The show was broken up into two arcs with the first arc having a heavy focus on comedy while the second arc was more dramatic. Who knew that 30 years later we could get a follow up, which is titled Act III – Middle Aged Struggles, signifying it as the third arc to the series? Unfortunately, Sugimura is no longer with us. Thus, Toei hired Ayumi Shimo to replace him as the movie’s head writer, who has written various episodes of Ryusoulger and Kiramager. Is this a blessing? Watch to find out.
