Toei hired cop drama writer Noboru Sugimura to helm their next installment of the Metal Heroes franchise. Sugimura had previously worked on various Lupin III Part 2 episodes, a show called Sukeban Deka, and the second half to Kamen Rider Black. This new series would take influences from Robocop and mesh them together with aspects of Metalder. What we got was a superhero cop drama titled Kidou Keiju Jiban. Is Jiban a stellar premier for Sugimura and a return to form for Metal Heroes? Or should this one be locked away in prison without a key? Watch to find out.
