Lupin III is a crime comedy drama series that began life as a manga in the late 60s by artist Monkey Punch. Monkey Punch's concepts were based on the French novel series about a thief named Arsene Lupin by Maurice Leblanc and combined it with elements from Ian Fleming’s James Bond franchise to create a series about a group of thieves always on the run from the cops. It was eventually adapted into a 23 episode anime series in 1971 and has been a franchise going strong ever since. King of... Is this an anime worthy of stealing your time away?
