Latitude Zero is an adaptation of a radio show that originally started out as an American/Japanese co-production, only for the American studio to jump ship during filming, leaving Toho to complete the film on their own. It features an all-star American cast such a Joseph Cotten, Ceasar Romero, Richard Jaeckel, and Patricia Medina. The film is about a trio who are swept away in a volcanic eruption and find themeselves in the middle of a conflict between a civilization who collects the greatest minds around the world in order to better mankind and a terrorist who wants to conquer the world through vile experiments.
