Given that Toei originally considered Battle Fever J to be the first Super Sentai series, Kousoku Sentai Turboranger kicked off its run with a non-canonical celebratory premier that highlighted the previous nine teams. Thanks to the popularity of pocket sized racing cars that had become all of the rage in Japan in the late 80's, Turboranger became the first vehicled themed Sentai series.
