Kamen Rider Geats was written by Yuya Takahashi, who had previously given us Ex-Aid and Zero-One. Takahashi felt the traditional methods of writing a Kamen Rider show were growing stale and wanted to make the next iteration more akin to modern online battle royale type games such as Fortnite and Apex Legends. However, instead of going the route Kamen Rider Ryuki had twenty years prior, limiting itself to thirteen riders, Takahashi took his idea from Ex-Aid’s final arc where anyone and everyone could be a Kamen Rider. Additionally, instead of having traditional battles of a Kamen Rider fighting an adversary in combat, he wrote each story to have a different objective as one would in a video game. This gave the show a lot of variety to try and avoid repeating the same tropes over. Was this method successful? Is this Blu-Ray worth buying? Watch to find out.
